Retrieve is a free classroom tool for running short, low-stakes recall activities at the start of a lesson: vocabulary quizzes, multiple choice, and short-answer games. It is built and run by Jeremy Borgas, a secondary school teacher in Australia, as an independent project. It is not funded by advertising.
Teachers sign in with a one-time email link. Students do not create accounts and are never asked for an email address, a surname, or any contact detail — they join an activity using a short code their teacher displays.
There are no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking of any kind. Two of the four activities record the nickname a student chooses alongside their answers so the teacher can review the lesson; the others record nothing about students at all.
